Luke 24:1-8 - Resurrection

Luke 23:35-38 - Jesus: King of the Jews, King Over All
Part 78 of the Book of Luke sermon series.
As Jesus hung on the cross, there must have been doubts in the minds of many of His followers as to whether He really was the Son of God. Why didn't He save Himself? Why didn't He call on heaven to rescue Him? But as recorded in Isaiah 55, "...so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." God had a plan before the foundation of the world, and this was part of His plan.

Jesus, on His way to Calvary, is mourned by women following Him. Luke briefly mentions the two thieves crucified on either side of Him. Jesus' crucifixion is prophesied in Psalms 22 and Isaiah 53.
