Romans 7:1 - 12
When we stumble in our Christian walk, sometimes we tend to then follow the Law, making our list of things we will do to try to make amends with God. The Law will never produce fruit, only failure - because we can't follow the Law without breaking some part of it. The Law is not the problem, the Law is holy, righteous and good (vs 12). It is only by grace that we can stand.

Romans 6:15 - 23
We are a slave to somebody - it's our choice. We are a slave to the one whom we obey. A slave to sin which leads to death or a slave to obedience which leads to eternal life in Jesus Christ. Pursue God and righteousness as we had pursued sin & wickedness before we were saved by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:6 - 21
Paul reminds us that when we were still powerless, and while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Through Adam, all men were condemned, BUT one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. Thank you, Jesus!

Romans 5:1-5
The fact that through Jesus and what He did on the cross, we are at peace with God, we are no longer an enemy of the Father. Knowing this should bring a rejoicing - knowing where we were and now where we are, and where we will be. But it's not an easy time - there will be suffering. The Word says we are to rejoice in that suffering because if we persevere during the suffering, it will bring character, being transformed into the likeness of His Son. And that character will bring hope that does not disappoint.

Acts 25:1 - 12
After two years of imprisonment, Paul is brought before Festus. After two years, the Jewish leaders and chief priest are still holding bitterness against Paul. Still with no true charges brought about, Paul is still questioned. He appeals to Caesar - his right as a Roman citizen.
What bitterness, anger, hurt are we harboring in our hearts after a long period of time? What schemes are we planning against others?
Again, Paul is an example for us on how to live our lives as he follows Christ.

Acts 22:30 - 23:11
Paul is before the Sanhedrin. What we can learn from this message is that we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit so we'll know when to speak and when to be quiet. Sometimes we are quick to justify and defend ourselves. We need to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Paul didn't fail in Jerusalem, although Paul may have thought he did.

Acts 22:1 - 30
Paul speaks to the crowds, and although he could have given the Jews a great theological discussion on how Jesus was the Messiah, he just gave his testimony.
For those of us who think we can't witness to others, we can tell them where we were before Jesus, what He did to change our lives, and where we are now. We once were blind, but now we see.

Acts 21:27 - 22:2
Paul is arrested while in Jerusalem - no one knows why - He's following the orders of the elders - but that just isn't enough - the crowd beats him, wanting him dead. The Roman guards take over and come to Paul's rescue. Paul, following Jesus, turns to the crowd and instead of wanting revenge, desires to continue to let the Gospel be heard.
Paul is a human life showing us how to achieve the bar set by Jesus Christ.
